Games I’d Like To See Remade in 3D on 3DS

During the last 3DS focused Nintendo Direct, I was shocked to see the Nintendo was working on a 3DS remake of Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii. It was a shocking for one to see a new Donkey Kong game, something I wasn’t really expecting and a 3DS remake of a Wii game. It sort of opened up my eyes to what with time the 3DS can truly do. We’ve already seen a 3D remake of a PS2 game with Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater and now a Wii game. This began to spark some ideas in my head of what else could be ported over to the 3DS.
I believe Pikmin would work great on the 3DS. The 3D effects would make the gameplay so much more immersive. If you use the Mii Plaza application on the 3DS, there’s a Pikmin 3D puzzle that you can unlock and see for yourself how great Pikmin looks on the 3DS. Personally I was a huge fan of the motion controls on the Wii versions of Pikmin 1 & 2 and I think that the touch screen on the 3DS could do a great job as well. The Touch screen would not only work for aiming similar to like in Kid Icarus Uprising, but you’d also be able to use it as a radar to keep track of your Pikmin.
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Mario Sunshine is one of my favorite Gamecube games of all time and I believe that if Super Mario 3D Land showed us anything it was that 3D Mario games on the 3DS could be and are awesome. Technically, being a Gamecube game, if the game’s estics were remade, Super Mario Sunshine should be able to run on the 3DS. We’re seeing a sequel to Luigi’s Mansion on the 3DS next month. I don’t see why we can’t get a 3D remake of Super Mario Sunshine or at the least a sequel similar to how Luigi’s Mansion is getting the treatment. The water effects of Delfino Plaza would look great on the 3DS’ screen. Just like the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D used the 3DS gyroscope for Link’s first person view, Super Mario Sunshine 3D could use it to aim with the F.L.U.D.D. accessory. The 3DS touch screen could display a little HUD of the F.L.U.D.D. where you could switch between different attachments.
Super Mario Galaxy
I distinctly remember seeing a DS fan made trailer for Super Mario Galaxy and thinking “wow that would be so awesome”. Now with the improved visuals and power of the 3DS, it may actually possible. In no way do I think it would be as visually impressive as Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 were on the Wii but it’s surely plausible. I think the whole 3D Mario gameplay along with the 3D visuals of the 3DS would be a stunning experience Seeing the star bits and pixels soar across the screen all while in 3D. The touch screen could be use to display health and interactive platforms like the orbs you would use to pull Mario to another planets with the Wii remote.
These are only some of my first choices for Nintendo specific 3D 3DS game remakes or ports. Which games would you like to see be moved from older Nintendo platforms over to the 3DS. There’s certainly a great library to choose from so start typing your choices in the comments below!
