Two Tribes Details Wii U Exclusive Toki Tori 2 Features
Two Tribes posted a new blog post today on their website regarding some exclusive Wii U features for Toki Tori 2. Toki Tori 2 can be played both on the Gamepad and the TV but they won’t be mirrored to both screens at once like in New Super Mario Bros. U. Two Tribes believes that the mirroring would distract the player while playing the game. Another exclusive feature is the Tokidex. The Tokidex allows the player to use the Gamepad as a virtual camera to scan for items and creatures, think Pokemon Snap.
The Tokidex feature allows you to scan the area around Toki Tori for creatures and objects by using the Wii U Gamepad as a virtual camera with a viewfinder. Any creatures photographed will be added to the Tokidex. It’s quite fun to do, especially with creatures that move quite a bit!
The final exclusive feature won’t be available at launch but some time later. The level editor and Miiverse integration are both planned for the Wii U version although the level editor will also be available on the steam version. Two Tribes hopes that one day you’ll be able to share user created levels via Miiverse and open them on Miiverse in a single click. Toki Tori 2 will be available on Wii U later this year.
