How You Transfer Data From Wii To Wii U
Nintendo has released some detailed instructions on how to transfer data from your Wii to your Wii U. First you need to have a 512 MB or higher SD card. Insert the SD card into your Wii U and begin the Wii transfer application. Then you insert the SD card into your Wii and download a Wii U transfer application from the Wii Shop Channel. Start the application and the data on the SD card will be converted over to Wii U data. Finally you’ll need to put the SD card back into your Wii U and the data will begin to transfer to the Wii U from the SD card. Once the data is transfered to your Wii U, you won’t be able to transfer it back to your Wii. Transferable data includes:
- Wii Points
- Wii Shop Channel activity
- Mii character
- Wii Software save data
- WiiWare and save data
- Virtual Console titles and save data
- Add-on content
