5 Must Have eShop Titles For Your New Nintendo 3DS XL

As many of you must probably know by now I’m a huge fan of the Nintendo eShop. There’s updates every single week with new games to download. While some of those games might not be the best, there’s a collection of gems for you to download. To celebrate the release of the Nintendo 3DS XL in North America, here’s my list of 5 must have eShop titles for your new Nintendo 3DS XL or if you’re not upgrading, Nintendo 3DS.

#1 Pushmo

Pushmo is a fun original puzzle game from the creators of Fire Emblem and Paper Mario for the Wii, Intelligent Games. In Pushmo you play as this cute little character that looks like a combination of Kirby and a Waddle Dee named Mallo. Mallo has to save child creatures like him who are stucked in the Pushmo. Pushmo are sequences of blocks that can be pulled and pushed. There’s also a feature that allows you to create your own puzzles and share them online via QR codes. Best of all there are tons of online communities who share their puzzles online, much of which look like retro game characters. You can purchase Pushmo on the eShop for $6.99

#2 Mutant Mudds

Mutant Mudds is a fun retro platform game from the fine folks over at Renegade Kid. In Mutant Mudds you play as a little blonde boy named Maxwell who has to save the world from the invading Mutant Mudds with his bubble blaster and jetpack. The game makes great use of the Nintendo 3DS 3D abilities by making use of backgrounds and foregrounds. You can see the depth between the backgrounds Maxwell jumps between and it looks awesome! One of the best things about the game is the music. Oh my nostalgia! The retro gameboy like music is catchy and will have you humming for weeks. Best of all a sequel has been confirmed for next year and a PC version is scheduled for release on August 30th. You can get Mutant Mudds on the eShop for $8.99

#3 Mighty Switch Force

Mighty Switch Force is a fun platform game from Wayforward that has you play as a female cop from the future who has to capture the escaped convicts on the street. The game uses 3D to display usable platforms and is a form of an attack. Level design looks nice and with some great music to go along. Mighty Switch Force is one of the best platform games available on the eShop with an HD version coming to the Nintendo Wii U eShop in the future. You can currently pick up Mighty Switch Force on the eShop for $5.99

#4 Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening DX

Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening was the 4th installment in the Legend of Zelda series and the first game in the series on a hand held. Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening DX is a remake of the original for the Gameboy Color that feature’s extra quests, a new dungeon, a colored graphics. It’s one of greatest Legend of Zelda games and now it’s available on the Nintendo eShop. Do yourself a favor and pick up this classic gem for your Nintendo 3DS, it’s only $5.99

#5 Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is the second installment in the Mario Land trilogy for the Nintendo Gameboy. This is the first time we see the now famous Wario as the main antagonist for the first time in a Mario game. The game has you play as Mario who’s on a journey to get his stolen castle back from Wario. Wario put a magical seal on the castle that can only be broken with 6 golden coins. It’s a fun classic Mario that sure to have you playing your 3DS for hours. You can pick up Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins for $3.99 on the eShop.
